Tuesday Board Meeting Minutes 09/12/06

We went over the lengthy list of ideas presented at the previous meeting, and picked out the ones that seem the most practicle and interesting.
For focus projects:

• volunteering and playing music at assisted living homes (at Glacier Hills, Lubin and Helen will contact for more info)
  
• ESL tutor at Pioneer (Jeany will contact ESL teacher)
  

Fundraising:

• Collecting pledges for ash tree planting with Rotary
  
• Selling water and picking up cans at the UM football games
  
• Cotton Candy

Meeting Minutes for Thursday, September 7, 2006

Brainstormed focus project ideas:

• promoting literacy
  
• Humane Society of Huron Valley (deadline 09/19)
  
• Food Gatherers
  
• ESL tutoring
  
• Mott Outreach
  
• Children (ex. Gretchen's House)
  
• Music at assisted living centers...many of our members are excellent musicians
  

*decided not to go with school improvement because there are many other clubs at Pioneer that do the same thing

Introduction of executive board and new members...we're getting new members! This is good.

We decided to go with big, one-time fundraising over membership dues.
Here are some ideas:

• Cotton Candy (Huron did this, supposed made alot of $$. Would require renting a machine and spending a lunch or two selling)
  
• Bake Sale-at lunches
  
• Can collecting after U of M football games
  
• Selling water or other drinks at U of M football games
  
• Bottle Drive at PHS
